The photographic image seems to be bound by two questions: "When was this made?" and "Where was it taken?"
The convention of reading photography as documentation obscures the fact that the photographic image is first and
foremost a construction, no matter how realistic it may look like. Independent of their origins the pictures in 11 Horizons
talk about a very basic decision when constructing an image: the separation of two fields by means of a line.
